So, you have crushed the Castlevania Anniversary Collection and finished the great spiritual sequel to the Castlevania series in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. Yet, do you really want more? Indie developer, Programancer, is working on their own Castlevania tribute - The Transylvania Adventure of Simon Quest! The platform adventure game has similar elements from Castlevania II that will give fans pining for more Metroidvania action a treat to sink their teeth into.

A new adventure for Simon Quest

The Transylvania Adventure of Simon Quest is an action-adventure gothic horror video game developed by Programancer. The game is set in Transylvania where the titular hero, Simon Quest, has just arrived at. He learns that his vampire hunter rival, Stan Helsing, had already slain Count Dracula. He then sets on a journey through Wallachia in order to gather the pieces he needs to be able to resurrect the Count himself.

The fame was meant to be yours and not Helsings; what kind of work would be there aside from vampire hunting for being strong with a whip? The only recourse you have left is to revive the foul beast so that you can kill him again yourself. As you find the means to get Dracula back so you can defeat him, this completely rational scheme will take you through the city of Wallachia. 

Use your fancy whip skills to beat monsters and get the things you need to resurrect Dracula. This homage to the vampire-slaying series and several other NES titles will have you making your way through the danger-filled countryside. As a tribute, much of it would sound very familiar to those who, for a few decades now, have been whipping mummies, decapitated medusas, and errant skeletons, but still with some cool new features.

Reclaim your glory in Wallachia

The Transylvania Adventure of Simon Quest is a good proof-of-concept action game. Elements of the game are included to test them with players. Expect to see some glitches in this demo, but there are high chances that further developments will probably come soon enough. Nonetheless, if you're game to carry out some crooked vampire hunting, feel free to cause the people of Wallachia undue trouble in this game.
